The Boston You Know by Heart
We all know the Boston in postcards. This isn't that show.
We're looking for the Boston you actually know. Not the skyline or the tourist stops, but the details.
A neighborhood tradition. A corner store. A familiar sign. A local saying. An everyday object. The things an outsider might overlook, but that you noticed.
Your work doesn't need to depict Boston literally. It can be a place, a person, or an object. An idea or memory. What matters is that it is relevent to Boston as it is not known.
Look again. Show us what you see.
Eligible media include painting, drawing, printmaking, photography, sculpture, ceramics, glass, mixed media, installation, and other original visual art.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
- Submission Dates: Through September 16th
- Exhibition Dates: October 2nd - October 18th
- Eligible Media: Original works in painting, drawing, printmaking, photography, sculpture, ceramics, glass, mixed media, installation, and other visual art are welcome.
- Selection Results: Participants will be notified via email no later than September 21st.
- Artwork Drop-off: All accepted artwork must be dropped off for hanging from 12:00 - 2:00 PM on Sunday September 27th, and 5:30 PM - 7:00 PM on Monday September 28th, via on-line sign up.
- Artwork Pick-up: Immediately after closing of show on Sunday, October 18th from 5:00 PM – 5:30 PM, or Monday, October 19th from 5:30 - 7:00 PM, via on-line sign up, unless arranged with the Gallery Committee.
- Gallery Hours: Saturday and Sunday, 10/03 & 10/04, 10/10 & 10/11 and 10/17 & 10/18 , from 12:00 PM – 5:00 PM.
- Reception: Friday October 2nd from 5:00 - 8:00 PM at the StoveFactory Gallery.
