Artists Group of Charlestown Artists Membership is open to all artists, by application and acceptance, who are dedicated to create and show their work.



AGC is actively seeking individuals who are actively working in two- and three-dimensional visual arts. In reviewing each application, the Committee shall consider originality, strength of the artist’s vision, professional attitude and presentation, consistency in the quality of the artist’s work, and commitment of the artist.

All applicants will be considered by the Artist Membership Committee, which will meet in September and March to review applications. Click here for an application form.

Members do not need to have studio space at the studios and do not even need to live in Charlestown, but should have a passion for art and enjoy helping the group in its activities.

As an artist member, you will be expected to be an active participant in AGC activities and to contribute to the success of the AGC non-profit mission including our planned events and overall growth. Benefits of membership include:

  • An opportunity to participate in AGC-sponsored group exhibitions, which include: the Annual Spring Show, Charlestown Open Studios Weekend, Art in the Park, and other planned events.
  • Listing on the AGC website.
  • A biennial solo show in the StoveFactory Gallery
  • An opportunity to participate in special community programs such as conducting art classes for neighborhood children and the elderly, lecture series, and planning and participating in art related workshops.
  • Use of AGC credit card system for art sales.

Annual dues are $60.00, and renewable each year during September. The AGC Membership reviews new membership applications twice a year in September and March more frequently if needed. If you have further questions, please feel free to call the AGC at 617-241-0130.



Help promote the visual arts in our community by becoming a Supporting Member. AGC Supporting Members are members interested in our mission. Service is as a volunteer on the Volunteer Board and undertaking the ideas of Artist Members. The Board develops events and community art related activities into a non-profit business format. Artistic talent is not required, just a desire to help the AGC with whatever skills you can bring to the table.  For more information, please call the AGC at 617-241-0130.

As an Artist Member of the AGC, you will be asked from time to time to serve on committees of the group and to volunteer your services in connection with certain activities. Annual dues are $60.00
